Your massage blends traditional therapeutic Swedish, Deep Tissue, Zen Shiatsu, acupressure and various forms of energetic bodywork. I work intuitively and customize my sessions, depending on the client's needs. |

| Flowing and relaxing, Swedish massage has many well-known benefits for nourishing the body, mind and spirit. Your full-body massage is energy-focused, intuitive and nurturing, with concentration on problem areas. The work is done on a padded & heated massage table with face cradle. Your level of comfort is most important. Lotion or oil may be used. |

| Not just hard massage, deep tissue is done with a slow and steady pressure applied with the knuckles, soft fists, forearms and elbows, at areas of tension and holding, in order to facilitate a release of bunched up tissue and adhesion. The result can be a relief of pain or long-term patterns of restricted mobility, greater relaxation, increased flexibility in the connective tissues and greater range of motion in the joints. |

| Shiatsu literally means "finger pressure." It is a form of acupressure bodywork which focuses on balance and health by encouraging the flow of life energy, or chi, throughout the body. Zen shiatsu is one of the gentler forms, with pressure applied using the palms, thumbs and forearms along the meridians, or energy channels. Shiatsu is based upon Traditional Chinese Medicine principles of yin & yang, Five Element theory, and acupressure points. |

| The concept of healing with the hands is an ancient one, found in most cultures throughout human history. Reiki is Divine Energy or Universal Life Force channeled through the hands as they are placed on the recipient. The effect can be as simple as relaxation, or as profound as a connection to All That Is. Reiki affects the individual at various levels of the body/mind/spirit, facilitating healing in the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual dimensions. |

a b o u t m e
My background is an eclectic mix of mind/body awareness, various art forms, computer technology, metaphysics and spiritual pursuits. I have a Bachelor's degree in psychology from Ohio State University where I also studied dance. Moving to California in the '70s led me down many paths, yet always I kept a spiritual perspective and a desire to help people. I have worked in the restaurant and resort fields, had careers as a hair stylist and as a Web developer, and have now been led to bodywork as a life's path.
I received my bodywork training from the San Francisco School of Massage and the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley. I was a teacher's assistant in the Swedish Intensive program (over 340 hours) at SFSM for 2 years. My certifications include Swedish Massage (102 hours), Deep Tissue Level I (32 hours), Zen Shiatsu (117 hours), and Advanced Acupressure Specialist in Emotional Balancing (200 hours). I am also a Second Degree Reiki Practitioner and a Certified Practitioner of Qi Gong. As a bodyworker, I incorporate an approach that is intuitive and energetic. This process is my contribution to the healing of our world through helping individuals move from a state of dis-ease to one of comfort, balance and health.
