First Awakening

O Adam, noble dust –
pictorial images emerge
and lives are lived.
You have converged.
These points of light have met in you.
We share ancestral species delight
and whisper so as not to stir the dust.
We praise your name as father.
We cherish your sons and grandsons
as timeless brothers of earth.

O Adam, Man of Men –
you have come to inherit
the beginning, the end.
All angels, all burials,
all families have lived in you.
The Phoenix of our solar body
arises from your dust to proclaim
the name –
Adam Homo Sapiens Man.
Have we outgrown the mold?
Has each dust particle emerged
from body-matter to light-source?
Wisdom wise Homo sapiens eyes,
can men deny the Man?

O Adam, son of God –
in love we shall remember,
and Death is sweet on those
first lips, those eyes
that gazed upon Day One –
upon the first sunset,
and closed to dream of the
Dawn of Man.
